NULL is the baseline phase of absolute, non-existent possibility — complete absence of value, concept, and dimension. No canvas yet exists.
A Step-Down event is a localized drop in frequency: absolute nothingness lowers its abstraction level and carves a functional container — VOID — from NULL. The VOID is not empty space; it is a deliberate dimensional canvas awaiting shape.
Operational log: Step-Down = frequency reduction operator $S_{\downarrow}$ acting on NULL substrate, producing bounded VOID volume with definable boundary conditions.
Raw CHAOS floods the VOID — unshaped, high-velocity energy, infinite probability density. Order precipitates from turbulence; the FIELD forms as the invisible grid stretching across VOID, stabilizing CHAOS into a predictable, interactive coordinate matrix.
The FIELD establishes localized physical laws and anchors universal constants, including growth base $e$ and cycle constant $\pi$. These are not decorative — they are structural coefficients in the 8-System compiler.

The Big Bang is not an explosion into pre-existing space. It is a massive, visible Step-Down phase transition: spacetime fabric expanded, cooled, and split into fundamental forces — a global FIELD crystallization event.
Black holes are localized proof the current stage is not permanently stable. Extreme gravitational pressure collapses local FIELD scaffolding; the grid tears and leaks back toward singularity state — a puncture in the coordinate matrix.
Hawking radiation demonstrates Step-Down is not inherently irreversible. Virtual particle pairs at the event horizon may be separated by gravity; one escapes as measurable radiation, robbing the black hole of mass:
Collapsed singularities convert back toward the regular FIELD layer over sufficient time. The cosmos breathes — expansion and evaporation cycles require active maintenance infrastructure, not passive faith in permanent stability.
